NEMA

The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) is Uganda’s semi‑autonomous government agency, established in May 1995 under the National Environment Act (Cap 181), and serving as the principal institution responsible for coordinating, monitoring, regulating, and supervising environmental management across the country.

UNOC

Uganda’s national oil company, UNOC is a government‑owned entity founded to manage the country’s oil and gas interests. It plays a pivotal role in the development of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) and the Tilenga and Kingfisher oilfield projects in partnership with TotalEnergies and CNOOC.

TotalEnergies SE is a leading French multinational integrated energy major, active across the entire energy value chain from exploration and production to refining, marketing, and renewables. Operating in over 120 (to 130+) countries with 100,000+ employees, it has a long presence in Tanzania (since 1969) and leads regional retail, LPG, bio-fuel, and aviation fuel businesses in Uganda.

China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) is a major Chinese state-owned integrated oil & gas company and one of the world’s largest offshore producers. Listed on both the Hong Kong and Shanghai stock exchanges, it engages in global exploration, development, production, and sale of crude oil and natural gas. CNOOC Uganda is a JV upstream partner in Lake Albert oilfields (around 28.3% share in Kingfisher) and holds about 8% equity in the EACOP pipeline project.

OPAC Refineries

Located in the Niger Delta (Umuseti, Kwale, Nigeria), OPAC is a modular refinery with a capacity of about 10,000 barrels per day. As one of Nigeria’s smaller, independent refineries, it produces diesel (AGO), kerosene (DPK), light fuel oil (LFO), and naphtha among other petroleum products. The facility is the first of its kind in the region, designed to bridge local refining gaps and expand regional production.

Octavia Energy (also Octavia Energy Corporation Ltd.) is a London‑headquartered international oil and gas company operating in North Africa and the Middle East. Despite its start‑up energy and ambition, it draws on over two decades of experience in exploration, field development, and commercialization in challenging regions like Yemen and Egypt

Pillar Oil

Pillar Oil Limited is a wholly indigenous Nigerian exploration and production company incorporated in July 1997. Based in Lagos with Delta State operations, it focuses on upstream development of crude oil and gas with strong environmental and economic impact goals The company has adopted modern financial and operational systems to enhance efficiency and local engagement.

Platform Petroleum

Platform Petroleum Limited is a wholly indigenous Nigerian oil and gas company, incorporated in 2001, and based in Victoria Island, Lagos. The company is known for its operational excellence and sustainable practices across upstream, midstream, and other energy ventures. Among its flagship assets is the Egbaoma Field (formerly Asuokpu/Umutu) in the Niger Delta, where the company achieved “first oil” in 2007.
